Round 5 progress report

Coorparoo had a strong start to Sub-District Cricket Round 5.

The A1s already have a first innings lead against Indooroopilly Districts at Moore Park (George Watt Oval). Bowling first, Coorparoo dismissed Indooroopilly for 104 in 45 overs. Josh Saul took 3/37, Chris Dishot 3/19, and Kaleb Auld 2/13. Captain Jeffrey Lituri scored 36 not out (and 22 for Ethan Bowditch-Wharton) as Coorparoo reached 6/117 by stumps, a lead of 13 runs.

The C4s have a first innings lead in a low-scoring game against Rochedale South at Brisbane State High Sports Complex (oval 4). Batting first, Coorparoo made 68. But they responded by dismissing Rochedale South for 40, with captain Marc Fidler taking 6/4 and Michael McInerney 2/1. Batting again, Coorparoo reached 2/8 at stumps, a lead of 36 runs.

The B1s are in trouble against Cleveland Thornlands at Henry Ziegenfusz Park (oval 2). Chasing 205, Coorparoo reached 5/47 stumps (Lachlan Ashley 26), trailing by 158 runs. Todd Duncan took 5/53 in Cleveland’s first innings.

The B3s are in a strong position against Cleveland Thornlands at Wynnum Memorial Park. Batting first, Coorparoo reached 8/240 in 71 overs. Ben Corling made 71 and was supported by Nitin Kashyap (27 not out), Simon Fynes-Clinton (27 not out), Amandeep Thatai (24), and Harshana Weerasinghe (21).

Sub-District Cricket Round 5 concludes next Saturday.
