Coorparoo are in good position in all four games to open Sub-District Round 14.
The A1s made a strong start against Peninsula at Filmer Park. Batting first, Coorparoo made 191, with fifties to Jordan Lanza (75), Ethan Bowditch-Wharton (50), and 35 to Chris Dishot. Peninsula will resume day two at 2/65, 126 runs behind.
The B1s had a big batting day against Bracken Ridge at McPherson Park (oval 1). Batting first, Coorparoo declared at 8/262 after 68 overs. Jakson Thiele (76) and Amandeep Thatai (69) scored fifties, James Collins scored 44 and Jason Miners 34 not out. Bracken Ridge will resume day two at 0/20, 242 runs behind.
The B3s need eight wickets for a first innings win against Cleveland Thornlands at Henry Ziegenfusz Park (oval 2). Batting first, Coorparoo made 187, with fifty for McKenzie Neal (68), 24 for Jarnail Sidhu, 23 for Charlie Wilkinson, and 22 for Ben Corling. Cleveland will resume day two at 2/47, 140 runs behind.
Late wickets gave the C4s the advantage against Kuraby at Wynnum Memorial Park. After making 164, Coorparoo reduced Kuraby to 3/5, 159 runs behind. Michael McInerney scored 95 in Coorparoo’s first innings, with support from David Hedditch (33).
With one more week until the semi-finals, the A1s are in second place, the B1s are in third, the B3s are in sixth, and the C4s are in second.
Sub-District Cricket Round 14 resumes next Saturday.
