Coorparoo made a positive start to Sub-District Cricket Round 6.
The A1s had a huge first innings against Ashgrove at CJ Greenfield. Centuries to Jordan Lanza (145) and James Howlett (104 not out) and 63 to Tom Cameron helped Coorparoo to 3/341 declared off 68 overs. Ashgrove reached 0/33 by stumps, 308 runs behind. The B1s are in a tight battle against Wellington Point at Wynnum Memorial Park. Batting first, Coorparoo was dismissed for 126 (Simon Fynes-Clinton 28, Ben Holt 24, Yeswanth Kalva 21). Todd Duncan took 2/14 as Wellington Point reached 4/81 by stumps, trailing by 45 runs. The B3s need five more wickets to beat Wellington Point at William Taylor Memorial Sportsground. Batting first, Coorparoo made 135 (Matthew Simmons 38). Wellington Point reached 5/98 at stumps (Nitin Kashyap taking four wickets), trailing by 37 runs. The C4s are also in a tight battle against Bulimba at Brisbane State High Sports Complex. Ross Freiberg top scored with 33 as Coorparoo was dismissed for 80. Captain Marc Fidler took 2/9 and Jacob McInerney 2/11 as Bulimba reached 4/59 by stumps, 21 runs behind. Sub-District Cricket Round 6 concludes next Saturday.
